A wedding has several phases – ceremony, reception, dinner, speeches and party – and each makes different demands on the equipment. The good news: with the right sound system, a wireless microphone and some lighting, you're well set for almost any celebration. Here's our checklist from many weddings in Berlin and Brandenburg.
01. Celebrant-led ceremony: microphone and small speaker
At a celebrant-led ceremony in a garden or barn, every guest needs to hear the “I do”. All it takes is a wireless handheld microphone for the speaker or speakers and an active speaker such as the JBL EON710. For the couple themselves, a lavalier microphone, which is barely noticeable, works well.
Tip: For the entrance, simply play the music from your phone to the speaker via Bluetooth.

A wireless microphone for the speeches is a must – even with 40 guests.
02. Dinner and speeches: The microphone is the star
Speeches are the emotional highlight – and nothing is worse than the back tables not being able to hear. Plan at least one wireless microphone, two if there are many speakers. It's important that the microphone runs through the same system as the music.
03. Party: The right music system
For the dance floor, you need a system with a subwoofer. As a guide: up to 50 guests the Funktion One PA system 01, up to 100 guests the System 02, up to 150 guests the System 05. Read more in our guide Which music system for how many guests?.
If your DJ does not bring their own equipment, we have complete DJ bundles with players and a mixer.
Warm light on the walls transforms every room.

04. Lighting: mood instead of disco
At weddings, subtle, warm light often works better than colorful effects. Wireless battery-powered lights from Astera bathe walls, trees or columns in warm light – no cables needed. For the party, add Moving heads and some haze from a Hazer . A classic for the first dance is the mirror ball.
05. Sort out power and venue
Ask the venue early how many sockets are available on which circuits. In barns and gardens, the building's power supply often isn't enough – that's when you need Generators and sufficiently long extension cables.
